Through innovation, technical excellence and an uncompromising commitment to safety, we help keep Britain’s railways operating safely and efficiently, 24 hours a day.

The opportunity

We’re searching for an experienced Railway Telecoms Manager to lead the growth of our Telecoms business across the UK’s rail sector.

This is a senior management role and a real chance to build and lead a growing part of the business. You’d be shaping our Telecoms growth strategy with the senior leadership team, helping to win work through tenders and frameworks, and building the delivery team that takes those projects from contract award through to handback. You’ll also work closely with our signalling and power teams to develop integrated solutions for clients including Network Rail, Tier 1 contractors and train operating companies.

We’re after someone with extensive experience delivering railway telecoms projects in the UK and a proven record of bidding for and winning telecoms contracts and framework places. Existing relationships with clients across the industry will count for a lot. Experience of FTN/FTNx, GSM-R, SISS or lineside telecoms, or of acting as CEM or CRE, would be a real bonus.

The salary is competitive, and permanent staff also get private family medical cover, up to 33 days’ holiday, and paid membership of professional bodies like the IRSE and IET, with certifications and qualifications funded by us.

If you’re looking to take the next step in your rail infrastructure career and want to be part of a growing, ambitious and technically respected organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Up to 33 days of paid holiday per year (pro rata) including bank holidays
  • Buy or sell up to 5 days of holiday per year (pro rata)
  • Carry over up to 5 days of holiday per year (pro rata)
  • 5 days of paid volunteering time per year
  • Private medical insurance covering you and your dependants, subject to company/scheme rules
  • Death in service benefit, paying a lump sum of up to 4x your annual salary to your nominated beneficiary
  • Company sick pay, based on the length of your service
  • Generous contributory workplace pension scheme
  • Annual discretionary pay review
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Fantastic opportunities to develop and gain certifications and qualifications, all paid for by the company
  • Opportunity to become a member of relevant professional bodies (e.g. IRSE, JIB etc.) paid for by the company
