Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a city centre organisation in the appointment of a permanent Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role within one of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious organisations. This opportunity offers the successful candidate the chance to lead the finance function, oversee financial operations, support strategic decision-making and play a vital role in ensuring the continued financial strength and sustainability of the organisation. Your new role The Head of Finance will take responsibility for the operational delivery and continuous improvement of the finance function across a broad remit including:
- Financial management and control
- Monthly management accounts preparation
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Statutory accounts and Charity SORP reporting
- Payroll oversight and compliance
- Procurement governance and value-for-money initiatives
- Audit management and liaison with external stakeholders
- Leadership and development of the finance team
- Supporting the Bursar with strategic financial planning and reporting requirements
What you’ll need to succeed
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent recognised professional qualification)
- Previous experience managing finance staff
- Strong experience preparing management and statutory accounts
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with finance systems, payroll and financial reporting tools
- Strong organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational deliver
