Senior DevOps Engineer (DV)

Overview

In this role you will help build and operate secure cloud and on‑premises environments for UK defence and government programmes. You will collaborate with a capable engineering team to design reliable, scalable systems, automate deployments, and strengthen security. The work centers on modern infrastructure, CI/CD, and large‑scale secure platforms. You’ll tackle meaningful challenges that impact critical national systems and mission success.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Manage Linux-based infrastructure
• Support AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments
• Automate deployment and operational processes
• Deploy and support containerised apps using Docker and Kubernetes
• Implement monitoring, alerting and observability
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
• Improve reliability, scalability and security across platforms

Key requirements

• Active DV Clearance (eDV or UKIC DV)
• Commercial DevOps/Platform/Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Experience with CI/CD tooling
• Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC tools
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Understanding of networking and security principles
• Strong Git knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities
