BESS Project Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead technical developments in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) space, supporting stakeholders with BESS comprehension and guiding the selection of suitable BESS, PCS, and EMS providers. You will assist cross-functional teams through acquisition, JV, and project development phases, ensure FAT/SAT execution, and monitor grid-compliance delivery. Joining a market-leading platform, you will help scale a growing BESS portfolio and drive technical excellence across projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead on BESS developments and support stakeholders with BESS concepts
• Identify and select BESS, PCS and EMS providers
• Support colleagues through acquisition, JVs and project development stages from a technical perspective
• Ensure FAT/SATs are completed
• Ensure delivery of projects in accordance with grid compliance

Key requirements

• strong background in BESS (3+ years)
• experience managing contractors such as EPCs
• training with inverter manufacturers is a bonus
