Maintenance Engineer – Multi-Skilled

Overview

You will join a well‑established FMCG operation to maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring high safety and reliability. In this role you work within a supportive engineering team to keep modern machinery running, diagnose faults, and deliver timely maintenance with quality reporting. You’ll balance reactive and planned work, support continuous improvement, and benefit from ongoing training. This is a hands-on position with a clear impact on production uptime and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive, preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and PLC faults
• Carry out installations and provide maintenance reports via CMMS
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
• Manage engineering spares and consumables
• Collaborate with the team to support continuous improvement and uptime

Key requirements

• NVQ, BTEC or City & Guilds qualification in engineering
• HNC advantageous
• Completed engineering apprenticeship with electrical qualifications
• Strong electrical, PLC fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Military engineering backgrounds (Army, RAF or Royal Navy) advantageous
