Associate Cost Manager – Infrastructure

Overview

In this role you will apply your cost management expertise to large infrastructure programmes, working within a consulting team to deliver accurate cost control and reporting. You will build strong, professional relationships with clients and stakeholders, guiding projects through governance and change management. You will focus on forecasts, budgets, and value engineering to keep projects on track. This is an opportunity to shape outcomes on major infrastructure programmes and lead project commercial activities.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams
• Administer contracts in line with project objectives
• Provide cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion within budget
• Monitor cost variance and contract cash flow; ensure timely applications
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams on deliverables, KPIs and value engineering
• Manage contract changes to stay within governance and best practice
• Improve forecast and budget accuracy
• Provide commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders
• Negotiate and finalise final accounts
• Lead people and commissions as needed

Key requirements

• Proven Cost/Commercial Management experience
• Experience with infrastructure/major programmes and projects
• Ability to lead and manage teams
• NEC3 contracts experience (Option C – Target Cost)
• Post-contract administration experience
• MRICS preferably
