AI Forward Deployment Engineer

Overview

As an AI Forward Deployed Engineer, you will translate client challenges into prototype, pilot, and production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will partner with clients and CGI teams to identify high-value opportunities for agentic AI, guiding projects from discovery through deployment. You’ll experiment with emerging AI capabilities within enterprise constraints, helping scale secure, reusable patterns across clients. This role offers hands-on engineering impact, cross-functional collaboration, and a path to influence CGI’s expanding AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-value opportunities for agentic AI with clients and CGI teams
• Rapidly prototype interfaces and MVPs to validate ideas
• Design and deploy agentic AI systems integrating with enterprise infrastructure
• Develop across UI, backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud environments
• Advance concepts into secure, scalable production solutions
• Present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to RFPs/bids
• Transform successful implementations into reusable agentic patterns and assets
• Collaborate with CGI and client specialists to overcome engineering challenges and deliver business value

Key requirements

• Hands-on AI tooling experience with OpenAI Codex, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code or comparable tools
• Practical knowledge of agentic AI including context, tool use, orchestration, evaluation and guardrails
• Strong engineering foundations across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations and cloud
• End-to-end delivery experience from prototyping to deployment
• Client-facing capability including pre-sales, solution engineering or consulting
• Clear communication of complex concepts to diverse stakeholders

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and move quickly from ideas to working software
• Judgement to apply AI responsibly in enterprise environments
