AI Lead

Overview

In this role you drive enterprise AI transformation by defining and delivering the organisation’s AI strategy. You bridge technology and business to secure executive sponsorship, establish governance, and lead a small AI engineering team. You are not a hands-on development lead, but you shape tooling, governance, and responsible adoption across functions. The position is hybrid in London within a large, international consultancy with a modern AI toolkit and scale to enable meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the organisation’s AI strategy
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
• Establish governance, risk and best-practice for AI adoption
• Lead and mentor a small team of AI developers/engineers
• Build business cases, evaluate technology options, and recommend solutions
• Oversee AI governance and responsible adoption practices

Key requirements

• Experience developing and delivering AI strategy
• Knowledge of the latest AI tools and their business applications
• Experience with ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and similar tools
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions
• Experience building business cases and evaluating technology options
• Understanding of AI governance, risk, and security
• Leadership experience guiding specialist technical teams
• Experience managing AI engineers working on AI tools and solutions
