Bid Manager

Overview

In this Bid Manager role, you drive the 2nd stage/PCSA conversion from preferred bidder to contract award on major regional public sector schemes. You will align design, commercial and delivery teams in pre-construction, manage risk and design development, and ensure a smooth handover to live operations. You work closely with clients and governance processes within a leading family-owned contractor focused on sustainable construction and community impact. This is a high-visibility position offering progression toward senior bid and pre-construction leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2nd stage PCSA process from preferred bidder to contract award on major schemes
• Develop conversion strategies aligned with client objectives across design, commercial and delivery teams
• Manage risk, value engineering, and design development throughout the pre-construction lifecycle
• Maintain strong client relationships and oversee governance approvals
• Ensure seamless handover to live operational teams
• Support delivery through complex public sector frameworks
• Contribute to bid strategy and coordination with cross-functional teams

Key requirements

• Proven track record as Bid Manager delivering 2nd stage/PCSA conversions for Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
• Strong pre-construction insight and commercial awareness
• Ability to build credible client relationships and influence stakeholders
• Experience in complex public sector schemes; MOJ framework experience desirable
• Solid understanding of design development, risk management, commercial strategy, and pre-construction programming
