Overview

As a Family Law Associate, you will guide clients through delicate matters such as divorce, financial settlements, and child arrangements. You will manage a caseload from start to finish within a supportive, collaborative team that values empathy and strategic thinking. Your work will span high-net-worth financial remedies, private law children matters, and complex assets, with a focus on practical, client-focused outcomes. This role offers autonomy alongside a close-knit team and opportunities to shape the dept and contribute to business development.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload across divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements, cohabitation issues, and protective injunctions
• Advise on high-value settlements, pensions, and complex asset division
• Handle confidential family matters with empathy and strategic planning
• Advocate for clients in negotiations or ADR settings
• Support team development and mentor junior lawyers
• Engage in business development and contribute to department growth

Key requirements

• Qualified Family Solicitor (ideally Associate level)
• Strong experience in finances and private law children matters
• Ability to run files independently while working as part of a team
• Confidence in advocacy and negotiation/ADR
• Interest in mentoring junior lawyers
