Risk Manager – Infrastructure

Overview

In this role you will implement and oversee an integrated risk management framework for a major capital programme in London. You will collaborate with the infrastructure team to identify threats and opportunities, monitor risk exposure, and inform investment decisions. You will drive management responses and challenge contractor risk views to protect project contingency and schedule. This is a hands-on, data-driven role that shapes risk strategy across high-profile infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme
• Maintain visibility of risk trigger points to enable cost profiling and timely risk budget actions
• Use risk data to inform investment planning
• Identify and record measurable management responses and assess post-mitigation positions
• Monitor overall risk exposure against the remaining risk budget
• Proactively manage completion of management responses to deliver target positions
• Work with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and their views on client-held risks
• Produce risk reports to communicate threat and opportunity status
• Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform contingency levels
• Demonstrate competence with tools such as PRA, @risk, Safran; familiarity with ARM, Predict, Tableau

Key requirements

• Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment on large programmes
• Working understanding of integrated risk management (risk, cost and schedule)
• Risk workshop facilitation
• Threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
• Probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA, P6 proficiency)
• Proven risk delivery experience on major projects/programmes
• APM/IRM risk certification preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Degree in construction-related subject preferred, not required
