Head of Industry UWS (Under Water Systems)

Overview

In this role you lead the full industrial ecosystem for Under Water Systems, aligning planning, procurement, manufacturing and logistics to deliver performance and customer satisfaction. You shape and execute industrial strategy while driving lean principles and Industry 4.0 transformation. You manage a large, multi-disciplinary operations team and own the industrial throughput and cost centre. This role sits at the heart of Thales UK’s mission to deliver trusted, advanced technologies for global customers. You will influence proposals, bids and programme delivery to enable industrial excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end industrial delivery across planning, procurement, manufacturing and logistics aligned to S&OP plans
• Deploy industrial strategy and optimise use of resources (people, finance, physical)
• Oversee supply chain, manufacturing, industrial engineering and continuous improvement (300 headcount, 8 direct reports)
• Industrialise new products from design to production
• Deliver performance against quality, cost and delivery targets (optimize inventory, supply and WIP)
• Drive Industry 4.0 adoption and digital industrial technologies
• Ensure effective use of ERP, MES, QMS
• Lead change management and embed continuous improvement culture
• Manage cost centre (~£15M) and industrial throughput (~£200M+)
• Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental compliance
• Represent industrial operations at bid and gate reviews; approve industrial solutions
• Act as industrial lead within business domains, supporting proposals and programme delivery
