Defendant Insurance Senior Associate / Legal Director – Bristol

Overview

In this role you will lead high-stakes insurance litigation within a national team, handling complex PI and property damage cases. You will work with insurers and public sector clients, supporting growth of a market-leading department and mentoring junior lawyers. You’ll collaborate across the national network to deliver effective, commercial outcomes and contribute to the firm’s ongoing revenue and reputation. Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of high value, multi track personal injury and property damage claims
• Defend claims for insurers, local authorities and public sector bodies
• Handle complex liability issues and coverage disputes
• Work closely with partner leads and colleagues across the national office network
• Supervise and support junior lawyers within the team
• Manage own matters with autonomy while delegating effectively
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the department

Key requirements

• Strong experience handling high value personal injury and property damage claims
• Experience acting for insurers and/or public sector clients
• Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
• Excellent client management skills with a commercial, pragmatic approach
• Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for business development
