We are looking for an organised and proactive Recruitment Coordinator to join us initially on a three-month fixed-term contract. Recruitment coordination will be the primary focus during a particularly busy period, so we are looking for someone who is available to start immediately or within a few weeks of an offer and can quickly take ownership of recruitment and onboarding activity.
The role will also include wider day-to-day HR coordination tasks from the outset, providing practical support across the People function and ensuring processes and records are managed accurately and efficiently.
There is potential for the contract to be extended and for the balance of responsibilities to develop further into wider HR work, offering a good development opportunity for the right person.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment campaigns from approval through to appointment, keeping actions, deadlines and candidate communications on track.
- Work with hiring managers to agree recruitment timelines and arrange shortlisting, interviews, panels, rooms or online meetings.
- Prepare and publish vacancies through agreed channels, including NHS Jobs and One Care channels, and maintain accurate recruitment records and trackers.
- Act as a friendly and professional point of contact for candidates, responding to routine queries and communicating outcomes promptly.
- Coordinate offer documentation, pre-employment checks, contracts and onboarding so that new starters have what they need to begin effectively.
- Provide wider People Services administration, including maintaining employee records, preparing routine correspondence and supporting agreed HR processes.
- Support HR services delivered to One Care’s member practices and help ensure queries, records and agreed actions are managed accurately and promptly.
- Identify practical opportunities to simplify and improve People Services processes, and help embed agreed improvements into day-to-day practice.
Skills and experience
We’re seeking someone with:
- Demonstrable experience as an HR or recruitment coordinator.
- Experience of managing several activities or vacancies at the same time while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Experience of providing a responsive service to managers, candidates or customers and dealing confidently with routine queries.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, particularly when preparing employment documentation and maintaining confidential records.
- Clear, friendly and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- A practical, responsive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of defined processes and recognise when an issue needs to be escalated.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and the initiative to identify and embed better ways of working.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A commitment to fair and inclusive recruitment, a positive candidate experience and appropriate handling of confidential information.
- Experience of using NHS Jobs would be an advantage.
- Generous and fair performance-based pay increment structure
- Enrolment onto a salary sacrifice private pension with Royal London, which includes employer contribution of 14.3% of your actual pay and flexibility on level of employee contributions with a minimum of 3%
- 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), up to a maximum of 30 days for long service
- Holiday trading scheme
- Enhanced family leave pay and paid time off for medical appointments, carer’s leave, fertility treatment, bereavement and emergencies
