Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation (E&I) equipment across process and packaging plant.
• Complete planned and preventative maintenance on schedule and record work in the CMMS.
• Support DCS, SIS, PLC, and Aspen systems and their connected devices and networks.
• Work safely to permits, isolations, COSHH, risk assessments, and SOPs.
• Supervise and lead small contractor teams during shutdowns.
• Participate in RCA, RCM, LEAN, PHA, and PSSR activities.
• Help develop maintenance procedures, method statements, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support spares specification and storeroom inventory control.

Requirements

• HNC in Instrumentation and/or Control Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in the chemical or allied process industries.
• Strong instrumentation knowledge including calibration and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems including VSDs, MCCs, transformers, and substations up to 10kV.
• Understanding of ladder logic and first-line PLC and DCS maintenance.
• Working knowledge of DSEAR / ATEX and hazardous area installations.
• Confident reading technical drawings and data sheets.
