The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Software Engineer to join a software engineering team delivering technology solutions for a UK public safety and law enforcement programme. This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that support public safety, working with modern technologies and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
As a Custom Software Engineer, you’ll combine hands-on development with technical leadership, helping shape software solutions, guide team decisions and deliver high-quality, scalable applications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and enhance full-stack software solutions using Java and modern development frameworks.
Build and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot, Angular/React AND AWS ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and deliver business requirements.
Lead technical discussions, contribute to decisions across teams and help resolve complex engineering challenges.
Mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews and promote software development best practices.
About You
Advanced proficiency in Java Full Stack Development, with strong hands-on software engineering experience.
Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, ideally building scalable, high-performing applications.
Proven ability to take ownership of technical decisions and contribute to solution design.
Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across multiple teams.
Valid UK SC clearance, or eligibility to obtain it in line with the project’s requirements.
