The Role (75% Technical / 25% People Management)
You’lltakeresponsibilityforcoordinatingateamofinfrastructureprofessionals,maintaininghighservicestandardsandprovidingsenior-leveltechnicalsupportacrossapredominantlyMicrosoft-basedenvironment.
WorkingcloselywiththeInfrastructure&SecurityManager,you’llhelpshapetechnicalpriorities,supportstrategicinitiativesandensureinfrastructureservicescontinuetomeetoperationalandsecurityrequirements.
Keyresponsibilitieswillinclude:
- Coachanddevelopteammembers,supportingtechnicalprogression,performancemanagementandknowledgesharing.
- Coordinateteamrotas,holidaycoverandon-callarrangementstomaintainserviceavailability,includingout-of-hoursincidentresponseandplannedmaintenance.
- Remainhands-onwiththird-linesupport,infrastructurechanges,troubleshootingandtheimplementationoftechnicalimprovements.
- Workcollaborativelywithservicedesk,applicationsandwidertechnologycolleaguestomaintainreliableandresponsiveITservices.
- Supportchangemanagementprocesses,includingchairingchangeadvisorymeetingswhenrequired.
- Identifyopportunitiestostrengthensecurity,improveoperationalefficiencyandenhancetheresilienceofcoretechnologyplatforms.
- Helpmaintaineffectiverelationshipswithexternalsuppliersandtechnologypartners.

You’llbringastronginfrastructureengineeringbackground,confidentleadershipskillsandtheabilitytobalanceoperationalresponsibilitieswithlonger-termimprovements.
Essentialexperienceandskills:
- Extensivehands-onexperiencewithMicrosoftAzure,includingvirtualmachines,virtualnetworks,loadbalancingandcloudstorage.
- StrongknowledgeofWindowsServer,Hyper-Vandhybridinfrastructureenvironments.
- Experiencewithnetworkingtechnologies,includingswitching,Wi-Fi,SD-WAN,firewallsandVPNs.
- ExperiencewithMicrosoftEntraID,ActiveDirectory,ConditionalAccessandmultifactorauthentication.
- KnowledgeofMicrosoft365services,includingExchangeOnline,TeamsandSharePointOnline.
- Experiencesupportingcomplextechnicalincidentsandprovidingthird-lineinfrastructuresupport.
- Previousexperienceleading,mentoringorcoordinatingtechnicalcolleagues,withthecommunicationskillstobringoutthebestinateam.
Technical Environment
Experienceacrossabroadrangeofthefollowingtechnologieswouldbebeneficial:
- Identityandcollaboration:MicrosoftEntraID,ActiveDirectory,Microsoft365,ExchangeOnline,TeamsandSharePointOnline.
- Networkingandconnectivity:ArubaCentral,networkswitching,wirelessinfrastructure,SD-WAN,firewalls,VPNsandsecureremoteaccess.
- Resilienceandoperations: Backup and disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, penetration testing, security monitoring, incident response and managed detection and response.
