High Voltage Engineer

Overview

As a High Voltage Engineer at JLL, you will oversee safe operation, maintenance, and compliance of HV/LV electrical systems at the Rolls-Royce site in Filton. You’ll act as Electrical Authorising Engineer, ensuring adherence to Safety Rules and SSOW across installations, while guiding contractors and internal teams. You’ll influence safety policy execution and risk mitigation for critical infrastructure, partnering with clients and stakeholders. This role offers hands-on technical leadership and a chance to shape safe, reliable electrical operations in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, isolate, discharge, and prove dead HV/LV systems within the Senior Authorised Persons scope
• Identify safety hazards and specify controls based on Method Statements and worksite inspections
• Monitor and manage routine and reactive maintenance of HV/LV infrastructure
• Audit compliance with regulations and best practice; advise procurement on contractor standards
• Assess qualified personnel and ensure competency for Safe Systems of Work and authorised activities
• Maintain system records, drawings, and schedules; report dangerous situations to site management
• Develop business cases to mitigate electrical risks on site
• Communicate regulatory updates to stakeholders and site engineers/technicians
• Fulfil role of principal duty holder for NIC EIC

Key requirements

• HV AP Certification via an approved provider
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in technical delivery and management of electrical systems
• HNC or equivalent in engineering/management
• Experience leading a technical team for Safe Systems of Work/HV activities
• Full clean driving licence
• IOSH Managing Safety certification
• Excellent IT skills (Excel, data presentation)
• BS7671 IET Wiring Regulation (18th Edition)
• Electrical Test and Inspection 2391-52
• Meticulous attention to detail
