Trainee Laser Programmer

Are you interested in CAD design, engineering or manufacturing technology

We are recruiting for a Trainee Laser Programmer to join an established manufacturing business, on a temp to perm basis. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with a keen interest in technical drawing, computer-based design and problem-solving.

Full training will be provided, so previous laser programming experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models of tubular components using customer drawings and specifications.
• Use CAD software to produce 2D technical drawings and 3D models.
• Convert customer files into the formats required by laser cutting software.
• Use specialist software to calculate estimated production times to support customer quotations.
• Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and help ensure accurate technical information is provided.
• Support the wider team with programming, drawing and administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate information and follow established procedures.

• A willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
• Confidence using computers and learning new software.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or spreadsheets would be beneficial
