If you enjoy practical work, solving electrical faults and taking pride in a job well done, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work across essential water and industrial infrastructure.

About The Role

You’ll deliver planned and reactive electrical work on client sites, including safe isolation, installation, removal, maintenance, commissioning and testing of rotating equipment and other three-phase electrical apparatus.

Working closely with our Electrical Supervisor and office team, you’ll help plan and coordinate site activity, including small, mixed-trade teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role offers significant overtime opportunities through our enhanced on-call arrangements, with an allowance from £180 for each week on call, plus call-out payments of £30 per hour. Work-related expenses are reimbursed, and power tools and testing equipment are provided.

What You’ll Do:

  • Safely isolate, remove, install and maintain rotating equipment and other three-phase electrical apparatus.
  • Carry out electrical fault-finding, assess equipment condition and recommend appropriate repairs.
  • Commission and test installed equipment, completing accurate test records using NAPIT software.
  • Apply your knowledge of variable speed drives (VSDs) to fault-finding and commissioning.
  • Coordinate electrical and mixed-trade teams on site, supporting safe working and effective delivery.
  • Scope electrical tasks and identify the labour, tools, materials and equipment required.
  • Produce clear technical reports, condition findings and job documentation.
  • Provide technical information to support risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), planning and scheduling.
  • Identify additional maintenance or repair requirements and communicate these to the office team.
  • Work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and wider team to resolve site issues and maintain quality standards.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, supporting reactive work and out-of-hours call-outs.
  • Contribute practical ideas to improve safety, quality and delivery.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A recognised electrical apprenticeship and relevant trade qualification, or an equivalent relevant qualification with demonstrable industrial experience.
  • Experience in industrial electrical installation, maintenance or site services.
  • Proven ability to safely isolate and work on three-phase equipment and rotating plant.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of VSDs and experience commissioning electrical apparatus.
  • Confidence coordinating small teams and mixed trades, working to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
  • The ability to produce accurate technical reports, test records and job documentation.
  • A strong commitment to safety, customer service and working as one team.
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota and undertake overtime as required.

CompEx would be advantageous, but it is not essential to apply. Training is available for suitable candidates who have not already completed the qualification.
