Job Description:

Good conveyancing is about more than getting transactions over the line. It’s about getting the detail right, keeping clients informed and building relationships that last.

If that sounds like your approach to property law, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.

We are working with a friendly, forward-thinking regional law firm looking for a Conveyancer to join its team in Sudbury. This is a firm that believes in doing things properly, investing in good systems and processes, and building a sustainable business with strong roots in the local community.

The focus is on quality rather than growth for growth’s sake. The firm wants to provide an excellent service, build lasting relationships with its clients and continue to develop its presence in the market towns it serves.

Why this role stands out

  • A genuinely client-focused approach: Personal service, clear communication and keeping clients informed are central to how the firm works.

  • Quality over quantity: Well-managed processes and effective systems help the team work efficiently without losing sight of the client experience.

  • A modern way of working: Established cloud-based systems support a flexible approach to office and home working.

  • A friendly, supportive environment: Team wellbeing matters, and a healthy work-life balance is actively encouraged.

  • Flexibility to suit you: Full-time and part-time applications will both be considered.

  • A competitive package: Including a bonus and healthcare benefits.

The role

You will manage your own caseload of residential property matters, providing a personal, responsive service from initial instruction through to completion.

Your work is likely to include:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.

  • Remortgages and transfers of equity.

  • Leasehold transactions and, ideally, lease extensions.

  • Managing transactions efficiently, keeping matters progressing and addressing issues as they arise.

  • Communicating clearly with clients, estate agents, lenders and other parties throughout the process.

  • Maintaining high standards of technical work, file management and compliance.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a consistent, high-quality service.

There is an emphasis on taking ownership of your matters while making sure clients feel supported and know what is happening at each stage.

About you

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with experience of managing your own caseload in a busy conveyancing department.

Just as importantly, you will care about how the work is delivered. You understand that good conveyancing depends on attention to detail, effective processes and keeping clients informed, not simply completing transactions.

You will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing.

  • Excellent client care and communication skills.

  • An organised, methodical approach to managing your workload.

  • The ability to work independently while being a supportive member of a team.

  • A positive attitude towards improving systems and making processes work well.

  • An appreciation of the value of local relationships and a personal approach to service.

Experience of leasehold property and lease extensions would be particularly useful.

About the firm

This is an established, progressive practice with four offices across Suffolk. It has built a positive local reputation by combining modern legal services with a personal approach to clients and the communities it serves.

The partners take a considered approach to running and growing the business. They embrace technology where it makes a meaningful difference, continually look for ways to improve systems and processes, and recognise that excellent service comes from getting the fundamentals right.

This firm has supported flexible office and home working for several years, with cloud-based systems making collaboration straightforward. It also places real importance on team wellbeing and creating an environment where people can do good work without sacrificing a healthy work-life balance.
