Overview

In this role you will lead the technical direction of the backend powering the recipient experience, helping scale Wise’s recipient management product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable fintech capabilities and improve customer experience. The role focuses on building robust APIs and data-driven solutions that support secure global payments. This is a chance to contribute to a mission-driven, high-availability platform.

Pay / Benefits

• Starting salary: 111,000 – 145,000

Responsibilities

• Drive the backend technical vision for the recipient experience
• Scale and build the recipient management platform
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics in an agile setup
• Design, deploy and maintain clean RESTful APIs
• Ensure code quality through best practices and reviews
• Write testable code with Test Driven Development
• Support and improve reliability of critical services

Key requirements

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Java 8+ proficiency
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases,Query optimization and schema design
• Strong product mindset and customer-focused decision making
• Collaborative work style and ability to bring teams together to solve problems
• Experience designing, deploying and maintaining RESTful APIs
