Senior Software Engineer, Web Development – AI

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a container-orchestrated platform, building scalable web apps and AI-enabled features that serve millions of users. You will join the Ads Customer Interfaces team to deliver high-quality services and an excellent user experience, collaborating across UX, dev-ops, QA, and product management. You will drive the integration of AI-powered capabilities and Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions to enhance chatbot interactions. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver modern web applications and back-end services
• Collaborate with UX designers, software engineers, DevOps, QA, and product management
• Build and integrate AI-powered features into web apps and enterprise tools
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions for chatbot interactions
• Work independently and with teammates to deliver prioritized features
• Plan and refine features with the team for innovative designs
• Write tests to ensure code quality
• Utilize CI/CD to meet quality and scaling requirements
• Improve software delivery processes to reduce waste and increase value
• Demonstrate deep problem-solving to resolve user-impacting challenges

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, Node.js, Express)
• Cloud experience (AWS and GCP)
• Experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, OOP; performance optimization
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and AI/ML APIs/SDKs
• Hands-on experience with RAG or LLMs for chatbots (preferred)
• Understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub; Jira and Confluence
• Agile practices; ability to estimate tasks and meet schedules
• Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana); databases (SQL/NoSQL) and caching
• Track record of tuning performance and reliability for highly available services
• Secure engineering practices; web security fundamentals
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science/Software Engineering
