Senior Estimator

Overview

In this Senior Estimator role, you will shape cost strategies for civil infrastructure projects from the Newport base. You’ll work at the front end, partnering with design, commercial and operations to craft smart, deliverable tenders and early-stage estimates. You’ll influence project outcomes across a diverse portfolio, driving value through robust costing and buildable pricing. Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, first-principle cost estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with design, commercial and operations to develop robust tenders
• Review drawings, specifications and scopes to identify risk, opportunities and value engineering solutions
• Engage proactively with the supply chain to secure quotations and informed pricing
• Support bid submissions, reviews and tender clarification meetings
• Apply consistent estimating standards, systems and governance across bids

Key requirements

• Experience in estimating or strong civil engineering background in construction or infrastructure
• Commercial awareness and high attention to detail
• Working understanding of NEC forms of contract and procurement processes
• Ability to analyse complex information and communicate clearly
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and develop in a high-performing team
