Overview
In this role you will help evolve and scale Wise’s recommendation platform and reward systems for a global audience. You will design and build the backend integrations, APIs, and product experiences that shape the first customer experience for new users. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a smooth, data-driven onboarding journey and effective rewards. This is an opportunity to impact how Wise acquires and delights customers at scale with robust, maintainable systems.
Responsibilities
- evolve and scale the recommendation platform and reward mechanisms
- build systems and APIs for the onboarding and referral journey
- shape the first customer experience for new customers
- collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to improve customer experience
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin (or other JVM-based language)
- Strong experience with Spring framework
- Relational databases, distributed and concurrent systems (Kafka)
- experience with testing strategies (unit/integration)
- clear communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- end-to-end ownership of projects and customer-focused decision making
