European Road Freight Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the European road freight division for a respected, employee-owned logistics provider. You will shape strategy, drive commercial growth, and oversee service delivery across domestic and international road freight. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership, sales, and operations to strengthen market position while balancing operational excellence with business development. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Road Freight function to ensure service quality, performance, and profitability
• Develop and implement road freight strategies aligned with broader business goals
• Drive growth across European and domestic road freight services, expanding revenue and market share
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, suppliers, and overseas partners
• Ensure road freight movements comply with regulatory requirements and operate efficiently

Key requirements

• Proven management experience in European road freight and freight forwarding
• Strong carrier, supplier and customer relationship management skills
• Experience managing international road freight operations, including import/export services
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate and develop teams
