Help break down barriers and support people to live the lives they choose.

At Sense, we believe everyone should have the power, choice and control to live the life they choose. We work alongside disabled people with complex needs to break down barriers, drive change and create opportunities for everyone to take part in the things that matter to them.

We’re looking for a Female Community Support Worker to join our team in Wrexham on a permanent basis. Working 2 days per week, 9am to 4pm, you’ll be providing personalised 1:1 support to a deafblind parent, helping them to maintain as much independence as possible in their everyday life. From school pick-ups and children’s activities to medical appointments, volunteering and getting out into the community, no two days will be quite the same. Pay is 13.00 per hour.

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will have access to drive the client’s car. For genuine occupational reasons, this role is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9).

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, respectful and committed to promoting choice and independence
  • Reliable and consistent, with a genuine people-first approach
  • Confident in a varied, community-based role
  • A driver with a full UK driving licence

This role might include:

  • School pick-ups and supporting children’s activities
  • Accompanying the person we support to medical appointments
  • Supporting access to volunteering and community activities
  • Helping with day-to-day family life and practical tasks
