We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager to join a friendly, welcoming and nurturing term-time nursery in Harrow, North West London.
This position offers an excellent work-life balance, with working hours of 9:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only.
We’re looking for someone who is confident in supporting nursery leadership, passionate about delivering high-quality Early Years education and committed to helping every child thrive.
Your Responsibilities
As Nursery Deputy Manager, you will:
- Support the Nursery Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the setting.
- Lead, motivate and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding childcare.
- Ensure the nursery meets EYFS statutory requirements and safeguarding standards.
- Support planning, observations and assessments to promote children’s development.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Support staff supervision, development and ongoing training.
- Assist with safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessments and nursery policies.
- Support nursery inspections and continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence.
What We’re Looking For
Essential requirements:
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
- Experience working within a nursery, preschool or Early Years setting.
- Previous leadership experience, ideally as a Room Leader, Third in Charge or Deputy Manager.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- A confident, proactive and positive approach to nursery management.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
- We would also welcome applications from experienced Level 3 Room Leaders or Third in Charge practitioners who are ready to progress into a Nursery Deputy Manager position.
