Hunter Savage is recruiting Junior Mechanical Design Engineers for our client based in an engineering business operating in the semiconductor sector.

Following a significant period of growth, several opportunities have arisen for early-career engineers with machine design experience to join the team.

The Role

As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of machinery and mechanical assemblies, working alongside experienced engineers to turn technical requirements into practical design solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the development of mechanical designs for machinery and equipment.

• Producing and updating 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and associated documentation.

• Assisting with component selection and considering manufacturing and assembly requirements.

• Participating in design reviews and contributing ideas to resolve engineering challenges.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues throughout the design process.

• Maintaining accurate design documentation and supporting changes as projects progress.

The Person

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Relevant experience in mechanical machine design, gained through employment or a relevant industrial placement.

• Experience using CAD software to produce mechanical models and engineering drawings.

• An understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.

• A practical approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

• A willingness to learn and develop their mechanical design expertise.

Experience within automation, machinery manufacturing or semiconductor-related engineering would be particularly relevant.
