Technical Sales/Support Engineer
We are exclusively recruiting a Technical Sales/Support Engineer for a growing business in the engineering sector. This opportunity would suit someone with an electrical, mechanical or similar technical background seeking a customer-focused role. Junior candidates without an engineering background are also encouraged to apply, particularly those with a genuine interest in technical products, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Based in Portadown, this permanent, office-based position focuses on responding to enquiries and supporting an established customer base. There is no cold calling, proactive outreach or sales KPIs. The Role:
Respond to incoming customer enquiries by telephone and email, providing helpful advice and support.
Learn to understand customers’ requirements and identify suitable products and solutions.
Prepare quotations and follow up on existing enquiries.
Liaise with suppliers and colleagues to obtain technical information, pricing and lead times.
Process orders and keep customers updated on progress.
Support colleagues with customer queries and technical requirements.
Build your understanding of the product range and its applications through training and day-to-day guidance.
Develop strong customer relationships through reliable, friendly service.
The Person:
Candidates from electrical, mechanical or related technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Equally, junior candidates without engineering qualifications or experience will be considered if they demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn.
May be an electrician, maintenance engineer, fitter or technician looking to move into an office-based role, or someone at an earlier stage of their career seeking a new direction.
Enjoys solving problems, understanding how things work and helping people.
Communicates clearly and brings a positive, customer-focused approach.
Is comfortable asking questions and developing new skills.
Previous sales experience and detailed product knowledge are not essential.
