Become part of the team

We are recruiting Consultants and Senior Consultants to support our growing health and social care work across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You will work on complex improvement and transformation programmes, using analysis, practical problem-solving and hands-on delivery to create measurable and lasting value for clients.

Across Ireland and the UK, we work extensively with Health and Social Care Northern Ireland (HSC), the Health Service Executive (HSE) in the Republic of Ireland, NHS organisations and wider public services. All our local roles sit within Northern Ireland and Ireland Government & Public Sector, so you will also have the adaptability to contribute to adjacent public service projects where your skills can add value.

You should understand, or be motivated to develop a strong understanding of, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland health, social care and wider public service markets.

Our areas of focus

In the Republic of Ireland and UK, we work directly with individual health and social care organisations including provider trusts, health regions and systems, and departments of health and arm’s length bodies. Our primary areas of focus are:

  • Financial and operational improvement and transformation
  • Workforce productivity and transformation
  • Health and social care analytics
  • Procurement and supply chain
  • Service and clinical pathway redesign
  • Organisational and PMO design and deployment
  • Transformation delivery and implementation support

What you will do

  • Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, financial, corporate and public service teams to diagnose challenges and implement improvements.
  • Analyse financial, workforce, activity and performance information and turn it into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Support the design and delivery of improvement, recovery and transformation programmes, including programme governance, benefits tracking and implementation.
  • Facilitate workshops, produce compelling evidence-based insights and support senior stakeholders through complex decisions.
  • Improve processes, patient flows, capacity, workforce deployment, procurement or enabling services.
  • Create compelling analysis and recommendations and present them confidently to senior leaders and boards.
  • Track outcomes and benefits, manage delivery risks and embed capability so improvements are sustained.
  • Build strong client relationships and work as part of diverse PA and client teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also bring experience in one or more of the following

  • Financial controls, recovery and sustainability
  • Workforce productivity, planning and optimisation
  • Operational improvement and service redesign
  • Health and social care analytics and modelling
  • Procurement, commercial improvement and supply chain
  • Urgent and emergency care, outpatients or elective services
  • Corporate services, estates or facilities management
  • Wider public service transformation and delivery

Our consultants are expected to be hands-on, working alongside clients to bring energy, structure and expertise to difficult operational and transformation challenges. We are committed to supporting the personal and professional development of our people through meaningful delivery experience, coaching and progression opportunities.

We know the skill-gap and ‘somewhat need to tick every box’ can get in the way of meeting brilliant candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply – we’d love to hear from you.

Please be aware that some of our UK roles at PA Consulting require a UK security clearance.

All PA people are required to undergo background checks and to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard however, some UK roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must have at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.

We therefore ask that you only apply if you meet the residency requirements (i.e. you are a British citizen or have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years), as this is the prerequisite for a security clearance. If you’re unsure about your eligibility, we encourage you to review the UK Government’s guidance on security vetting before applying.
