Head of Data & AI

Overview

As Head of Data & AI, you will shape the data and AI strategy to turn emerging tech into customer and business value. You’ll drive the AI roadmap, work with senior teams, and balance innovation with practical delivery at scale. Your leadership will build a high-performing Data & AI capability and ensure governance, security and measurable outcomes. This role offers ownership to translate concepts into production-ready solutions that differentiate products and operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the Data & AI strategy, roadmap, and technical direction
• Identify opportunities to apply AI across products, services and internal operations to improve value and decision-making
• Explore emerging technologies (generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, predictive analytics, graph intelligence, semantic search)
• Turn ideas into prototypes/MVPs, validate with users, scale successful solutions
• Own the data platform strategy with well-governed data underpinning AI initiatives
• Establish robust MLOps and engineering practices (deployment, monitoring, governance)
• Champion practical AI adoption across Product and Engineering
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing Data & AI team
• Ensure AI innovation is secure, responsible and transparent
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align tech investment with business outcomes

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering production-grade AI/ML solutions
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, and AI application architectures (RAG, prompt engineering, agents, model evaluation)
• Deep understanding of modern data engineering, data platforms and MLOps
• Strong Azure cloud experience, building scalable cloud-native solutions
• Strong software engineering and architecture fundamentals
• Track record of introducing disruptive tech and turning ideas into outcomes
• Strong commercial judgement translating technology into customer/business value
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing technical teams
