Overview
In this Project Manager, R&D role, you will steer the development of new robotics products from concept to launch. You join the Novanta Robotics & Automation team and collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and manufacturing to deliver high‑impact solutions. You will manage schedules, risks, and cross‑functional delivery across global teams. This position offers a clear path to senior programme management while working on cutting‑edge robotics technologies. You will contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and hands‑on product development.

Responsibilities
- Lead cross‑functional project teams across Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement and Commercial functions
- Develop and maintain project plans from initiation through launch
- Manage project schedules, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and actions
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication across stakeholders
- Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership
- Support business reviews and executive project reporting
- Coordinate activities with customers and suppliers as needed
- Ensure projects align with Novanta’s product development and quality processes
- Build strong relationships across global teams to support delivery
Key requirements
- Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 1–3 years’ project management experience
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, technology or product development environments
- Strong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet
