Intermediate Electrical EstimatorChelmsford, Essex£45,000-£55,000 A well-established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Intermediate Electrical Estimator to join its growing commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing a range of commercial electrical projects, working alongside the wider estimating and pre-construction teams to produce accurate and competitive tenders.The Role Based from the company’s Chelmsford office, you will support the preparation and submission of electrical tenders, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Estimator looking to continue developing their career within an established contractor and gain further experience across a varied commercial project portfolio.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical estimates and tenders for commercial projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
- Measure and price electrical works accurately.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project requirements, risks, exclusions and opportunities.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and consultants.
- Assist with value engineering and alternative design solutions.
- Prepare accurate and commercially competitive tender submissions.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and cost information.
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or Assistant / Intermediate Estimator.
- Strong electrical building services background.
- Experience working on commercial projects.
- Good understanding of electrical services and installation methods.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
