DevOps Engineer

Location: Hereford (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite per week)

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum, depending on experience

Clearance: SC Clearable – Sole British Nationals only

CPS Group are supporting a global IT consultancy who are looking to grow their DevOps function due to an influx of new projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team, working on complex projects across the UK Defence and Government sectors.

The Role:

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, using technologies such as Docker and Helm.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, security and compliance measures.
• Optimise infrastructure for performance, scalability, availability and cost.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
• Support and mentor junior members of the DevOps team where required.

Required Experience:

• Experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code, such as Jenkins, GitLab and Terraform.
• An understanding of secure infrastructure, monitoring and high-availability environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Defence or Government project experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be a sole British national.
• Candidates must also meet the relevant UK residency requirements for clearance.
