An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director – Operations & Control to lead and strengthen financial operations within a complex, fast-paced environment. This senior role will provide strategic and operational leadership across financial control, reporting, planning, governance and performance management, ensuring that finance activities support sound commercial and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will oversee the production of accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, budgets and statutory reporting, while maintaining robust controls and compliance frameworks. Responsibilities will include leading month-end and year-end processes, managing cash flow and working capital, monitoring financial performance against agreed objectives, and providing clear insight into risks, trends and opportunities. You will work closely with operational and senior leadership teams to improve financial understanding, challenge performance constructively and support the delivery of sustainable efficiencies. The role will also involve reviewing and enhancing processes, systems and policies, ensuring appropriate controls are embedded and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
We are seeking a qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership position, ideally within a multi-site, operational or commercially focused organisation. You will bring strong technical knowledge of financial control, accounting standards, budgeting, forecasting and risk management, together with a proven ability to translate complex financial information into practical recommendations. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the confidence to influence at board and executive level while developing a high-performing finance team. A proactive, analytical and commercially minded approach, combined with high standards of integrity and attention to detail, will be key to success in this role.
