A leading technology consultancy is looking for an experienced Platform / DevOps Engineer to support major UK Government digital projects.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale, technically challenging platforms, using modern cloud technologies and open-source tools to build secure, scalable and reliable services — all from home.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You’ll join an experienced engineering team working across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and DevOps automation. You’ll help build and continuously improve digital services, contribute to technical solutions and tackle complex engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.
With a 12-month contract, £550 daily rate and fully remote working, this is a great opportunity for an engineer looking for a long-term engagement without the daily commute.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Building and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Troubleshooting complex, multi-server systems in high-availability production environments
- Working with Linux, open-source technologies and modern cloud platforms
- Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable services
KEY SKILLS
- AWS cloud infrastructure
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Strong Linux / GNU/Linux knowledge
- CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Programming or scripting with Python, Go or Ruby
- Configuration management tools, ideally Puppet
- Experience supporting complex production environments
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Git, GitHub or GitLab
- Jenkins or Bamboo
- Prometheus, Grafana or ELK
- Networking, load balancing and distributed systems
- HashiCorp tools such as Vault, Consul or Packer
