Head of Data & AI Governance

Overview

In this senior leadership role, you will own the Data & AI Governance strategy and roadmap, shaping governance across a global business. You’ll collaborate with technology, legal and broader business teams to design policies, standards and controls that enable responsible innovation while managing risk and compliance. Your work will help build a strong governance culture, establish communities of practice, and drive adoption of governance practices at scale. This is an influential position focused on delivering meaningful business value through robust data and AI governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and embed data and AI governance policies, standards and controls across a global organisation
• Lead the governance framework development and roadmap to align with business objectives
• Partner with senior stakeholders across technology, legal and business to drive adoption and value demonstration
• Build and develop communities of practice; foster accountability and continuous improvement
• Oversee vendor/partner management and drive delivery quality and performance
• Lead and develop a high-performing governance team

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading Data Governance functions with AI governance exposure
• Track record delivering governance frameworks in large, multi-regional organisations
• Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies and best practices
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams and communities of practice
• Exposure to analytics, data science, ML or AI environments (advantageous)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks (desirable)
