Overview

As Head of Finance Operations & Systems you will set the strategic direction for high-volume transactional finance services across Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay, driving service quality, cost efficiency, and strong controls. You’ll lead an inclusive, high-performing Finance Operations team and govern an outsourced delivery model to align with broader business strategy. You’ll partner with Finance and Technology to enhance cash and working capital performance and deliver continuous improvement in a dynamic retail environment. This is a visible leadership role with broad impact across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and priorities for Finance Operations in OTC and P2P
• Lead and develop the Finance Operations leadership team, including onshore/offshore resources
• Oversee governance and performance of outsourced delivery, holding partners to SLAs, costs, and controls
• Provide financial partnership, insights, and constructive challenge to leaders
• Maintain effective financial controls and compliance across the function
• Collaborate with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives

Key requirements

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience leading finance operations in a large, complex organisation (retail/FMCG desirable)
• Experience managing outsourced/third-party service providers with governance and contract oversight
• Experience leading teams through significant operational, process or technology-enabled change
• Ability to interpret financial information, identify risks/opportunities, and influence senior stakeholders while ensuring compliance
