H&S Advisor

Overview

In this role you will provide on-site health and safety guidance to support delivery teams, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments. You will help develop RAMS, investigate incidents, and promote proactive safety practices through toolbox talks and direct workforce engagement. The position is a full-time, on-site role in Royston under a long-term umbrella contract, with potential for extension. You will work to ensure compliance with legislation and site standards, contributing to a safer, greener project environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day health and safety advice to on-site delivery teams
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance
• Draft, review, and monitor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions
• Promote proactive safety culture through toolbox talks and direct workforce engagement

Key requirements

• Proven H&S Advisor experience on industrial, engineering, or construction sites
• NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Royston
• Experience in incident investigation and RAMS management
• Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and site standards
