Managed Services, Corporate Accounting – Assistant Manager

Overview

In this role, you will deliver statutory and management accounting and VAT compliance for a varied client portfolio within KPMG’s Global Compliance & Transformation team. You will work with organisations from mid-market to FTSE-listed groups, across public sector, real estate and financial services, coordinating engagements and building trusted client relationships. You will apply strong accounting and VAT knowledge while supporting advisory opportunities and cross-functional client solutions. You will join a London/Birmingham based team and contribute to high-quality delivery that scales across complex international clients. Responsibilities

• Deliver statutory financial statements for standalone entities and groups in line with UK GAAP and IFRS
• Manage bookkeeping and management accounting outputs to meet client requirements and deadlines
• Prepare and review VAT returns in line with UK requirements and resolve technical queries
• Build and maintain day-to-day relationships with an allocated client portfolio
• Coordinate engagements, priorities and stakeholders to maintain delivery standards
• Collaborate with corporate tax compliance, Accounting Advisory Services and Payroll to provide joined-up delivery
• Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships and contribute to cross-functional client solutions
• Support senior team members with sales activity, proposals and client propositions

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of UK financial reporting requirements, UK GAAP and IFRS for standalone entities and groups
• Experience in financial reporting, management accounting and bookkeeping with delivery to agreed standards
• Solid understanding of UK VAT compliance, including preparation and review of VAT returns
• Experience managing engagements and coordinating delivery across a portfolio
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to provide practical technical advice
• ACCA qualified or equivalent
