Are you organised, enthusiastic and ready to learn? We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our friendly, busy logistics recruitment team.
This is a 360 recruitment role, giving you the opportunity to learn all aspects of our business, from sourcing and managing candidates to building client relationships, supporting sales activity and delivering excellent customer service.
You’ll work alongside an experienced team, gain hands-on experience across the office and complete a nationally recognised apprenticeship, with dedicated study time and support throughout your development.
What will you be doing?
- Recruitment: Sourcing, interviewing and registering candidates, checking licences and compliance, managing bookings and helping match the right drivers to the right jobs.
- Client relationships: Communicating with existing clients, understanding their staffing requirements and ensuring they receive a reliable, professional service.
- Sales and business development: Accompanying colleagues on client sales visits to learn how we build relationships, identify new opportunities and grow the business.
- Customer service: Joining colleagues on service visits to clients, helping maintain strong relationships and ensuring our service continues to meet their needs.
- Office and marketing support: Managing job adverts, maintaining accurate records, supporting social media activity and assisting with the day-to-day running of the business.
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility and develop a strong understanding of how each part of the business works together.
Your apprenticeship and development
Your apprenticeship will be a central part of your role, not something you’re expected to squeeze around your workload.
You’ll combine practical, on-the-job experience with structured learning, dedicated study time during working hours and ongoing support from both our team and your training provider.
You’ll develop valuable communication, organisation, sales and commercial skills while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and building a career in recruitment.
What we’re looking for
- An approachable, professional and confident communicator.
- Someone who is organised, reliable and pays attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and confidence to take initiative.
- Comfortable using IT, Microsoft Office and social media.
- A team player who is keen to develop their independence and take on new challenges.
Previous recruitment experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
What’s in it for you?
- Friendly, supportive colleagues who will help you learn and develop.
- Weekly pay.
- A nationally recognised apprenticeship alongside real workplace experience.
- Dedicated study time during working hours.
- Varied, hands-on experience across recruitment, sales, customer service and business operations.
- Career progression opportunities as your skills and confidence grow.
- Ongoing guidance and support, including when you begin learning our out-of-hours procedures.
On-call responsibilities
As part of the role, you’ll eventually join our out-of-hours on-call rota, which is an important part of supporting our clients and drivers.
This responsibility won’t start straight away. You’ll first have the opportunity to learn how the office operates, understand our procedures and build your confidence, with guidance from experienced colleagues both during and outside office hours. You’ll only take this on once you’re ready.
