Responsibilities

• Work in a 42-bed nursing home specialising in care for adults with mental health needs.
• Support residents’ physical, psychological and social wellbeing.
• Create a safe and supportive environment for residents with different health and mental health needs.
• Use professional judgement to make clinical decisions.
• Develop personalised care plans and conduct risk assessments.
• Administer medication safely and maintain high standards of nursing care.
• Follow relevant clinical practices and regulatory frameworks.
• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care that respects residents’ individual needs.

Requirements

• Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration is essential.
• Must qualify as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN).
• Good knowledge of up-to-date clinical practices.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
• A compassionate, dedicated and person-centred approach to nursing.
• Experience developing care plans and detailed risk assessments is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
• A mental health nursing background is preferred but not mandatory.
