UX Designer

Company: V.Group
Apply for the UX Designer
Location: Glasgow
Job Description:

UX & Interaction Design

  • Design intuitive, consistent user experiences for ShipSure modules – user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity UI in Figma.
  • Translate product requirements and user research into clear interaction patterns for both desktop/web and mobile contexts.
  • Champion usability and accessibility (WCAG) as first-class requirements across the platform.

Design Delivery & Front-End Collaboration

  • Partner closely with front-end engineers to bring designs to life – providing detailed specifications, assets and hands-on guidance, and using AI-assisted tools to prototype and iterate where helpful.
  • Ensure implemented interfaces match the agreed design and behave consistently across modules and devices.
  • Define reusable, well-structured UI patterns and components for the shared library, in partnership with engineering.

Design System & Agency Management

  • Manage the external agency delivering the ShipSure design system – setting expectations, reviewing outputs and holding them to quality and timelines.
  • Own the integration of the design system (components, patterns and design tokens) into day-to-day delivery, ensuring consistent adoption across squads.
  • Act as the bridge between the agency’s design-system work and the internal product, design and engineering teams.

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Product Managers and engineers as the primary UX contact across modules.
  • Contribute to design-partner and user-feedback sessions, synthesising insight into design improvements.
  • Work within the AI-assisted SDLC / AI-PrDLC, using AI-assisted design and prototyping tooling to work at pace and contributing to continuous improvement of these workflows. Including writing prompts, and creation of artefacts.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a UI/UX or product designer delivering production software.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating shipped, user-centred interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Figma (or equivalent) for wireframing, prototyping and UI design.
  • A strong working understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks such as React) and how designs are implemented – enough to collaborate credibly with engineers, without needing to hand-code production features.
  • Practical experience working with and contributing to a design system / component library and design tokens.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive, cross-device design.
  • Experience coordinating or managing external agencies or vendors, or a clear aptitude to do so.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in cross-functional agile squads.
  • Experience in the maritime, shipping, logistics, or heavy-asset-management industry.
  • Familiarity with enterprise or multi-tenant SaaS, ERP, or complex data-dense applications.
  • Experience designing for both web and mobile within the same product.
  • Experience with AI-assisted design and development tools and workflows.
  • Familiarity with design-token tooling and design-to-code workflows.
  • Write prompts and reuseable skills for the product and engineering team to build user interfaces with those components.
