About Westgate House Care Centre

Westgate House Care Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire, is part of Westgate Healthcare, a family-run, award-winning care home group.

The home has 109 beds in total, including a dedicated 13-bed Intermediate Care Unit (ICU) with its own private rehabilitation gym. The unit supports older people, often following a hospital admission, to regain their strength and independence before returning home with the right care package in place.

We’re looking for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our friendly multidisciplinary team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You’ll manage your own caseload and use your physiotherapy expertise to assess, rehabilitate and support residents to achieve their individual goals. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the home, as well as external professionals including Occupational Therapists, Doctors and Social Workers, to ensure residents receive joined-up support throughout their rehabilitation journey.

You’ll also provide leadership, guidance and supervision to junior therapy assistants, helping them develop their skills and confidence.

At Westgate, we believe in compassion, commitment, collaboration and credibility — and we want these values to shine through in everything we do.

About the role

As our Physiotherapist, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of residents requiring rehabilitation, from initial assessment through to the development and delivery of personalised care plans

  • Complete assessments and develop appropriate rehabilitation programmes based on individual needs and goals

  • Work alongside residents and the wider care team to set realistic, achievable goals

  • Support safe and timely discharge planning, including arrangements for ongoing care where required

  • Work collaboratively with health and social care professionals, attending multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews as needed

  • Use your clinical knowledge and physiotherapy skills to promote residents’ independence, mobility and quality of life

  • Lead, mentor and supervise junior therapy assistants, supporting their development and performance

  • Share knowledge and contribute positively to the wider multidisciplinary team

  • Take part in reflective practice and ongoing professional development

  • Keep accurate and appropriate clinical records in line with professional and organisational requirements
