Machine Learning Research Scientist

Overview

In this role you drive fundamental ML research to advance robot intelligence for autonomous systems. You will explore vision-language-action models, world models, and representation learning, aiming to deploy insights to real robotic platforms. You’ll work from first principles through experiments and evaluation on physical robots, shaping research direction within an early-stage company. Equity and autonomy offer meaningful influence as you collaborate with a tight-knit technical team to push embodied AI forward.

Responsibilities

• Investigate fundamental problems in robot intelligence spanning perception, language, action, and world modeling
• Design and run experiments to develop and evaluate learning-based robotic models
• Interpret results to determine next research directions and hypotheses
• Translate research ideas into setups applicable to physical robotic systems
• Collaborate with a small technical team to shape the research programme and its impact
• Contribute to advancing embodied AI and Physical AI within the project scope

Key requirements

• Strong research background in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or embodied AI
• Excellent foundations in deep learning and mathematics
• Experience designing experiments, training models, and interpreting results
• Enjoys the full research process from problem identification to experimentation and outcome-driven exploration
