ICT Business Support and Digital Adoption Officer – Braintree District Council

Overview

In this role you will support ICT service delivery and drive digital adoption across the Council. You will work with the ICT team and Learning & Development to streamline processes, maintain documentation, and coordinate business support activities. You will also champion Microsoft 365 usage to enable digital transformation and more efficient ways of working. The role connects technology, governance, and learning to deliver resilient ICT services and improved outcomes for services and residents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate business support activities for the ICT service, ensuring resilience and continuity of functions
• Promote adoption of Microsoft 365 features (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Copilot, Power Platform) to support digital transformation
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to support digital adoption and improve working methods
• Ensure LMS resources are accurate and up to date
• Respond to data requests and Freedom of Information requests
• Liaise with third-party ICT providers for services, training, and adoption initiatives
• Support ICT management with budgeting, planning, and documentation maintenance
• Provide project and business support for ICT and facilities projects and transformation initiatives
• Contribute to timely delivery of service improvements and digital initiatives
• Support learning resources and training across the organization

Key requirements

• Experience in an ICT environment with business support, service improvement, or digital adoption initiatives (advantageous)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of digital technologies and their workplace application
