Senior Wastewater Modeller

Overview

As a Senior Wastewater Modeller at Arcadis, you will lead wastewater modelling projects and shape client engagements to grow our project portfolio. You’ll work within the Water Management team on technically demanding AMP8-focused programmes, tackling flooding, CSO reductions, and network resilience. You’ll lead technical reviews, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver compliant, high-quality outputs. This role offers influence over project strategies and cross-team collaboration in a purpose-driven, sustainable consultancy. You will engage with water utilities and other clients to translate model outputs into actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wastewater modelling projects and oversee model builds and verification of sewer networks
• Perform technical reviews of models and ensure outputs meet standards and client expectations
• Develop strategic solutions to mitigate flooding and reduce CSO spills
• Support designers during concept and detailed design stages
• Review and enhance technical reports and presentations for quality
• Assist bids preparation with narratives, cost estimates, and programmes
• Coordinate project elements including resource allocation, QA, and subcontractor interactions
• Collaborate with clients to explain model outputs and foster ongoing engagement
• Mentor junior team members and support professional development
• Collaborate with specialists from other disciplines to ensure project integrity
• Lead client engagement and management activities with water utilities

Key requirements

• Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling for wastewater projects
• Team and stakeholder coordination and management
• Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM
• GIS software competency
• Experience with model QA procedures
• Strong report-writing skills
• Advanced spreadsheet-based data analysis
• Coding experience desirable
• Chartered membership in ICE or CIWEM desirable
