Piping Engineer – Completion Lead

Overview

As a Piping Engineer – Completion Lead, you will drive the completion and pressure‑testing phase for MEH installation on the Hinkley Point C project. You will lead a matrix of engineers to deliver work packs and resolve technical queries on site, ensuring safe, on‑time, and within‑budget completion. You will collaborate with electrical and HVAC leads to keep schedules aligned and unblock installation activities. This role offers hands‑on leadership in a high‑stakes nuclear construction environment with a strong focus on safety and cross‑discipline coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Mechanical & Piping Construction Work Pack delivery to maintain site activity
• Lead field engineering efforts on pressure testing, system completion, and handover docs
• Exercise technical authority on site to resolve queries and prevent downtime
• Provide operational guidance to a matrix team of engineers
• Coordinate with Contract Engineering Leads and discipline leads to align sequencing and schedule
• Support safe, on‑budget, on‑time delivery in a fast-paced environment

Key requirements

• Proven piping completion, pressure testing, or construction field engineering experience in heavy civil, energy, or industrial sectors
• Track record of delivering high‑integrity engineering safely and on schedule
• Strong interpersonal and matrix leadership abilities to influence diverse stakeholders
• Commercial awareness of contractual and risk management aspects on major projects
