Sustainability Advisor

Overview

As Sustainability Advisor, you will shape and deliver the organisation’s sustainability strategy and practical net zero actions. You will drive improvement in environmental performance, coordinate data collection and reporting, and manage sustainability projects end-to-end. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to embed sustainable practices and respond to audits, tenders, and disclosures. This role combines strategy, data insight and cross-functional collaboration to advance the firm’s environmental agenda and industry leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the sustainability strategy and net zero objectives across the business
• Collect, analyse and report environmental and carbon data to track progress
• Manage sustainability projects from planning through delivery
• Support environmental reporting, disclosures and carbon reduction plans
• Coordinate responses to client sustainability questionnaires, audits and tender requests
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve sustainability performance
• Assist with environmental management systems, policies and compliance activities
• Create engaging sustainability communications and awareness campaigns
• Monitor industry developments, legislation and best practices to drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Experience in sustainability, environmental or ESG roles
• Understanding of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting and net zero principles
• Project management experience with delivering initiatives on schedule
• Strong data interpretation and presentation skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proactive with ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Relevant sustainability/environmental qualification (advantageous)
